Hello TCOGGS! We've been busy in the Denne St. Garden recently and are determined to get this chook shed finished. We've got our groovy vintage gate in place as well as our supports fixed in concrete. Things are starting to take shape! Thanks to all who came to help with that. When the heat abates we will be getting some autumn planting done so stay tuned!
The Tamworth Growers' Market continues to go from strength to strength each week so please continue to come down and support our stall each week. There has been some killer produce recently and even some beautiful white figs in homemade wooden boxes (wowzers!). So definitely worth a visit and maybe even a few hours of your time volunteering-many hands make light work after all. Don't forget volunteers get first dibs in the morning!
We have New Garden! Located at behind Hopscotch Restaurant at the Tamworth Regional Playground (Kable Avenue) Working Bees will be weekly on Thursdays from 4.30 until its time for drinks! This garden is a fantastic opportunity for our club to have a face in town, to work with the restaurant, and the kids and families in the playground, and East Tamworth generally.
The Tamworth Agricultural Show is this week (4th and 5th of March), and TCOGGS will be maintaining a display in the Sustainability area, but we also encourage our members to enter some of their beautiful plants, produce and poultry in the show's many classes, or to attend one of the many and carefully planned workshops. We are an agricultural community and it is so important to showcase the best of what we have, whether its a backyard chook, a house plant, a vegetable super hero, your smallest pet or your best six tomatoes. The show schedules can be found here: http://www.tamworthshow.com.au/component/content/article/8-page/8-show-schedules
The Great Enviro Race is on this month too on Friday 18 March! Have your little ones head over here to sign up.
